A wrench
Is just a wrench
Forever doomed
To simply hold and turn things
Or is it?
When a pin is jammed in a hole
And there is no hammer to be found
What does the mechanic grab?
Why, a wrench
When that pesky belt tensioner
Won’t budge by turning just one wrench
I hook another one around the end
To double up on the prybar leverage
If I’m working on the car
And my back starts to itch
I grab the trusty inch and an eighth
And scratch that itch where it lives
When terrorists take over the airport
A sack of wrenches
Is all I need
To play like Bruce Willis and save the day
What manner of mechanic is this person
Lets peek in his toolbox
Does he have Snap-On wrenches?
Or Craftsman,or no name made in China
Assumptions can be made from this
What to buy the mechanic who has everything?
Why something shiny
Something sparkly
A new set of wrenches is a mechanics best friend
Wrenches can be precious
To be polished and possessed
Lusted after and arranged prettily
To lay asleep in the middle of the night
Dreaming of, my Precious
But the thing to remember
Whether it is an expensive wrench
Or one gotten on the cheap
It’s still just a tool
And is only as good
As the mechanic who wields it
