I saw a turtle-cockroach last night
It was shocking
It was huge
I really didn't know what to do
What strange powers does it have?
Can it run? Can it jump?
Maybe it can fly
I'll bet it's invincible
I was afraid
And wanted to step on it
But it was as big as my head
And it looked hungry
So I climbed up a tree
And tried to shoo it away
It didn't listen
It might not have ears
Eventually it ambled away
Through the slush and leaves
I'm relieved that it left
Even though now it haunts my dreams
